In your own space, talk about your Happy Place —
the things that give you joy, calms you or keeps you sane.
My "Happy Place" is 100% the comfort of a good pair of headphones, some snacks, and my husband chilling in the room with me. Usually in my Happy Place I'm able to write or otherwise just sort of do whatever I feel like doing. It's low key and I have the freedom to do what I want without being judged. I think most importantly moving forward with my happy place is keeping myself from being the one judging me. I like to think that I let myself off the hook when I'm there, but I know that I haven't been.
Lastly, I need to be able to let myself actually go to said happy place when I want to. I think I fall very much into the trap of "needing" to do other things (mostly entertaining messages or spending all evening with my husband) which, while being things that I shouldn't ignore, they're still things that I don't actually need to do for every single minute of my free time. My free time is just as much for me as it is for me to spend on others. ✌
