Pushing myself to at least think about my writing and my fandom projects this weekend!
I've recently gotten into Detroit: Become Human and have joined the #ConnorArmy on the sidelines. I feel like I'm painfully aware of how much estrogen is present? Beyond even how fandom tends to be pretty female-present, at least in my spaces. The Army's not quite my usual scene for fandom, but at the same exact time I really enjoy how different it is. There's lots of positivity within the Dechart Games twitch/discord channels. I think I kind of need that currently. There's also a blanket ban on discussing fic though which... I get but also feel rather dissuaded by. Finding stuff directly on AO3 hasn't slowed me down.
athenrys once again is my biggest cheerleader, pushing me to actually talk and think about my intended projects. Speaking of DBH, she's nudging me to get off my ass and at least sketch out my couple of genfic concepts. In between playing through to get the Platinum PSN trophy for the game, I want to dabble around with Connor and Hank's buddy cop dynamic even while I have to watch Machine!Connor completely ruin it all.
I'll be using my FS degree for a hot second as I stage a mock battle between Connor and the poor overworked crime scene techs trying to keep up with all the cross-contamination he's causing - android or not. And then like the other third of the fandom I'm gonna stomp around in Connor's head as he copes (or doesn't) with the stress of deviancy while Amanda's shadow lingers. There will also be Hank. Good ol' grumpy, caring, ex-millennial Hank.
Beyond that, I've totally smashed past my previous goal of "update Ash and Torment every two weeks" which - ahahahah - I should have expected. Overall I'm totally drained from working on any of my old projects because... well. Just because. I want to work on things that are exciting for me. The only caveat I'm tacking on is that I might not post unfinished WIPs anymore. It's not set in stone or anything, but I think... it might be best for me and my work method to at least have drafts and outlines of all chapters & story beats before I start posting a fragment here, a section there like I always have.
I dunno. I'm still thinking about it. Anyone got any opinions on pre-writing everything versus having a pile of public WIPs?
